On Friday night I went to a Chinese buffet after work. I ate the most! I need to work that off now... Didn't really do anything on Saturday but this morning I woke up dreadfully early to go to a car boot/market. Sadly, I didn't buy anything so then I headed over to a shopping centre.
The only reason I went was the buy a rabbit necklace (but they didn't have it D:) and some shoes but ultimately decided against buying them. I tried on an awesome sailor coat (I wish it were in navy or red), a long faux leopard fur coat (too big and expensive), some off white shoes (undecided), wedge lace ups (comfy but not feminine enough for me), lace up hiker boots (maybe TOO much), 'ballerina' shoes (too expensive for such a flimsy shoe) and some chunky lace up boots (awkward to walk in).
The only thing I ended up buying was a faux fur leopard-esque print coat from Zara Kids. It's nice and snuggly!
Last week I talked about clearing out my wardrobe, so now I'm going to discuss the basics I need in my closet. For each person the staples will be different depending on personal style, job and budget etc. I have already mentioned shoes and handbags, but the rest of my absolute must haves are:
♥ an amazing pair of jeans - it's very difficult to find the right jeans and you can get incredibly bored after trying on 20 pairs. My current favourites are dark blue high-waisted skinnies. I find that a majority of people will suit dark coloured bootcut jeans.
♥ the warm winter coat - during the cooler months, the garment most people will see is your outerwear. Pick something classic which will last more than a season and something that will actually keep you warm (ie wool). Black will last forever, but a printed or bright coloured coat is sure to cheer you up.
♥ white T-shirts - so simple, but they are great for layering when it's frosty and can also look incredibly chic paired with toussled hair, jeans and gladiators in summer. I find they are also great for work when you want to look smart, but not too office-y.
♥ cardigans - I absolutely love cardigans; long ones, short ones, V-necks, patterened ones... Since I am always cold, throwing on a snuggly cardigan prevents me from getting pneumonia and adds a cute element to my outfit.
♥ the little black dress - in my opinion, the LBD is more of an 'older' woman item. Nevertheless, it is good to have a fallback dress you know will look great on you in fashion emergencies.
♥ dresses - for some reason, I don't really like skirts but I adore dresses! They are so easy to work with and there are so many to choose from. You just need to know what lengths, styles and colours suit your frame.
♥ accessories - the bare bones for me would be a cool pair of sunglasses, a pair of black leather gloves, a gorgeous soft scarf for winter and three belts (black, brown and white) to cinch and add detail.
What are your must-have items of clothing?
Shirt - brother's
Jeans - River Island
Handbag - Chanel

On Friday night, my family had planned to eat out, but the restaurant we chose was packed and parking was atrocious, so we filled our bellies with curries elsewhere. My curry was a bit bland, but I loved tasting everyone else's dish, chomping on the poppadoms and slurping my mango lassi.
The shirt I wore was the one my brother used to wear at school. It's quite big! I love my rolled up my grey jeans (that's been done in Japanese magazines for so long) but I've thought about throwing them out since the colour is so passe and they are a bit baggy now.
I only decided afterwards to wear a necklace. It's one of my favourites. Here's to a lovely weekend. Hope you all had a good one!
Do you ever feel like you have nothing to wear? I do, even though I have wardrobes rammed with clothes! It's terrible, so now and again I try to clear out my drawers and donate things I no longer wear. Sometimes it takes a whole day, but my room looks great afterwards! Here's how I do it:
♥ Do you have wardrobes or drawers or boxes? However you store your clothes, start in one place and work through it before you go onto the next. Start as you mean to go on! It gets confusing if you jump around.
♥ It may be useful to have some boxes or bags ready for you to put your clothes into. Have one for donations and another for clothes which need repairing. However, if you cannot be bothered mending things, just have a box for clothes donations.
♥ Now, as you pick up each garment think about how much you like it, whether it fits, how often you wear, does it look good on you and when was the last time you wore it.
♥ If you haven't worn it for at least a year, put it into the donations bag! Alternatively, if you haven't worn it because the hem needs fixing or a button needs to be sewed on, put it into the repair/rubbish pile.
♥ Work through your wardrobe bit by bit. Play some fun music in the background if you like. It also helps if you have a full length mirror in the room so you can try on clothes.
♥ Try to be RUTHLESS when you are filtering. I hang onto a lot of things 'just incase' but I rarely end up wearing them. Removing the pieces you rarely wear is the key point in this whole exercise.
♥ Before you replace your clothes, wipe down the shelves so they are clean and dust-free. Try to organise your clothes in a sensible way. You may want to store them by colour, type, season or something else. Find a way that works for you. Fold you clothes neatly and arrange them how you like.
Ever since I bought 'treggings' from Topshop last year, I've been wanting another pair but I couldn't buy anymore as they haven't become trendy until this season. They are so comfortable! River Island have lots of variations, including the above pair in navy (#575843; £24.99).Create a chic 'boy' look by wearing them with a cocoon shirt (#578684; £24.99) and a back detail waistcoat (#577843; £29.99). I am also in love with the grey ruched frame bag (#577292; £39.99) and the grey elasticated shoes (#577610; £24.99). Add a girly touch with some heart stud earrings (#573529; £5.99) and keep it masucline with the moc croc watch (#578914; £24.99) and glitter trilby hat (#577914; £19.99).

On Sunday I rose early from my bed and went to a car boot sale with my friend. Didn't buy much, so afterwards we went to a shopping centre. I spent far too much! I got a pair of treggings, a jacket, a dress, some shoes and a headband. I tried so many pairs of trousers on my arms were so tired by the end of the day.
The lighting on this camera is so bad! My dress has a lace pattern and is a blush pink colour whilst my tights are white with little hearts all over. The denim jacket I've had for 5+ years but I have probably only worn it three times. Terrible!
It's been sunny recently, but you could hardly tell from these photos. Hope the nice weather continues! It seems to be drawing all the spiders out though...

My friend decided to have a random barbeque yesterday so I went along. I felt a bit too dressed up, but I've had this sailor dress for a few months and not had a chance to wear it. Was a bit chilly at night, but it was cool hearing the sounds of Coldplay drifting over. The neighbour's kids decided to serenade us with 'Birthday Sex' and 'Sweet Dreams'.
Edited my blog layout a little. Nothing major really. Going to add a few of you on Twitter as well. Watch out!

On Friday night, my friend and I had a random night out together. We pretty much sat there people watching the whole night and marking people on their clothes. Gosh, we are mean! Normally I choose one outfit to wear for a night out, but today I made a few changes because the original dress I wanted to wear was far too see-through. Also, I think I shall be wearing black tights from now on. I felt too exposed!
It was supposed to be a cheap night out but it wasn't really and I didn't even get tipsy. Oh well. At least the foosball was fun. "They live in their own make believe world!"
Obesity is on the increase and I keep telling myself to exercise more and to eat more healthily. It can be hard sticking to the plan when it's so much easier to lie in front of the TV (especially now that Home & Away is back!) and stuff your face with chips. Getting your 5-a-day also helps prevent diseases because fruit/veg contain a lot of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Here's a few ways to include that five fruit/veg per day into your daily life.♥ Chop up a banana and put it on your cereal / porridge. Bananas are pretty big though, so it's best to share a banana, unless you loooove bananas.
♥ Whizz up a smoothie to start off your day. This is a great way to get in your 5-a-day, especially since you don't need to chop / peel / spit out seeds etc. There are so many recipes on the internet, you're sure to find something to your taste.
♥ Make a salad using vegetables which are in season, which means they are fresher and also cheaper. I don't like eating rabbit food, so I add a nice dollop or salad dressing or tuna or pasta. Sweetcorn is an amazing addition. Who doesn't like sweetcorn?
♥ Sandwiches are also good. Add lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers or whatever takes your fancy. Or peppers, gherkins or olives? I'm just thinking of what Subway offers...
♥ Alternatively, have a baked potato with avocado for your lunch. Avocadoes are good fats (like omega 3) and the carbs from the potato give you energy. Eat the potato skin!
♥ Try to eat a small apple, pear or tangerine whenever you have a meal. That extra portion of fruit makes a big difference to your daily intake.
♥ If you get peckish throughout the day, snack on some dried fruit. Cranberries, raisins, prunes, dates and figs are tasty, low in calories and keep you regular!
♥ Use fresh tomatoes in your pasta sauce (lasagne, spaghetti, ravioli). Also great for soups, risotto, salsa.
♥ Have fruit as a dessert. Pick something special like a mango, cherries, peaches, pineapple or strawberries to make it a bit 'exciting'. Treat yourself and add a dash of cream. Fattening but sooo good!
♥ Fruit juices can also count towards your 5-a-day. Try to pick something fresh and not from concentrate so you are sure you're getting the best. Don't drink them too late at night though because they are acidic.

Shoes - OasisTuesday was one of my good friend's birthday. She had a little dinner party to celebrate and the theme was alter egos! We had great fun making up names and personalities for our friends/guests and everyone had to dress in character. My persona was sexy but geeky and clumsy. Started the night off with some tasty bruschetta, mains included chicken + bacon, potatoes in creamy sauce, green beans and roasted tomatoes. Dessert was a home made chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and blackcurrants.I got attacked by a tiny spider during this photo shoot. I'm still paranoid that it's lying in my hair. I've seen far too many spiders this week.
There actually isn't much that I am lusting over this week! I am however, very smitten by nightwear and loungewear at the current moment. I tried to create a nice lust set but it was rather difficult this weekend since stores have a limited amount of nightwear or the shops that do, don't have very good images. Don't you find this fairy garden vest and shorts set (£18) so cute though? The weather has turned much colder this week. Snuggle up in a premium pintuck bed jacket (£22) and slip your feet into some ellis quilted booties (£15). If that doesn't help, pull on some knee high socks and/or chunky legwarmers (£8). Stay cute with a bow on alice band (£8). If you are going to a sleepover, pack your goodies into a large quilt vanity case (£40) and store your delicates in a sweet floral lingerie bag (£6). You'll be the chicest girl there!

Necklace - TopshopOn Orange Wednesday my friend and I went to watch Coco Avant Chanel. Oh my, she was such an amazing woman! Not only for her creativity, but for her attitude, persistence and perseverance. My friend and I decided to wear Chanel-esque outfits for our viewing. This cardigan is one of my favourites, but I've had it so long that it's become rather tatty now. I took some sneaky pictures at work...I've had a busy week! Watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Thursday, went out for dinner (tapas) and a dance on Friday and going to see District 9 tonight.
Once you receive this award, you must give it to ten other bloggers and write ten facts about yourself.D'aww, thanks to Sher for bestowing this award upon me! I'm supposed to tag other people but I'm too lazy for that, sorry. Here are the ten facts though:1. I wear too much blusher. That's because I went on a crazy NARS make up buying spree when I was younger. They are a few years old, so probably unhygenic, but I can't just throw them away, they are too expensive!
2. I really dislike having dry lips/hands. I am constantly putting on lip balm or handcream.
3. If I won the lottery, I would buy a penthouse apartments in NYC, Paris and London (amongst other things).
4. Apart from owning a pack of dogs, I'd love to have a Sphynx cat and a Lionhead rabbit.
5. Toffee pennies are the best thing inside a box of Quality Street.
6. I have poor circulation. My hands/feet are always cold.
7. My top 3 choices for fancy dress are; sailor girl, ballerina or school girl.
8. According to some electronic machine, my body is 30% fat. That's not good.
9. The VW Golf is my 'dream' car. Isn't that sad? Wouldn't say no to a BMW Z4, mind you.
10. My lucky number is 13.

Belt - All Aboard (Jewish charity shop)This bank holiday I went to Edinburgh. The tattoo (spelling?) and the Fringe festival were both on, but I didn't go to either! I did, however, have some delicious St. Lucio ice cream. Is wearing a cardigan as a dress a little bit slutty? I get a lot of stares when I do variations of this look. Also, I love my new headband, but I can't decide how stupid I appear. Is it too big?On the journey home, I was blasting out 'old school' music and singing my heart out. I had fun, not sure about those around me though.
Missy pranced along the neon-lit streets of London heading towards her best friend's husband's art gallery opening. She was only going for the food, since she had been surviving on mung beans for a week. What was the point in owning a designer dress if you didn't look good in it? She couldn't afford anything else after buying it anyway.
Now that summer is ending, the sales are coming to a close and you are left with the dreggs! If you have any money left, snap up this beautiful folded dress (£69.95, was £140) from Karen Millen. Sadly, not much else is on sale there so the rest of the outfit is quite dear!
Keep the look sweet with butterfly diamante shoes (£110, was £225) and a satin corsage bag (£99). Toughen it up this autumn's must have classic suit jacket (£180) and a black acrylic and crystal pendant (£65). Really make the outfit your own with a zebra belt (£69.95) and a zebra strap watch (£100).
