Oopsy daisy I hurt you again.

Is it just me or does season 3 Blair Waldorf not "wow" you like she did in season 1? I get that her wardrobe needs to mature, but I just don't LOVE her like I did. Don't get me wrong, she has had some nice outfits, but to me they just aren't as fabulous! For a blast to the past, I checked out GG stylist Eric Daman's collection for Revolve Clothing from last year. I like how the classic preppy shapes which have been modernised with pops of colour. Sooo Gossip Girl.

Take it easy.

Who remembers the cute + sexy Cadbury's Caramel bunny? She re-appeared earlier this year, slightly redrawn with the slogan 'still got it x'. She has been redrawn again since Giles Deacon has designed a dress and a scarf (out October 26th) for her based on the new Cadbury's Caramel Nibbles. Her fur scares me a bit.

Pictures from here, more old adverts here. A bar used to only cost 17p!!!

High street lust #21.

Recently, I have discovered boohoo.com, which sells fashionable clothes for pretty good prices. I am still debating whether I should get a sequin dress or not. Will I wear it when the trend is over? I could do the full on bling with the carrie sequin shift dress (£20) or add a dash of femininity with the marielle lace sequin bow tunic (£20).

Jewellery is another one of my current lusts and my outfit would be totally fierce with the lex wrapped tiger ring (£6) and real diamante cat pendant necklace (£8). Girly touches can be added with the mirella feathered headband (£6), zena black ruffle front suedette platforms (£30) and roberta bangle set (£8). If I wanted to look tough, however, I could throw on a chelsea military jacket (£15) and grab the stella oversized clutch bag (£15).

I could have had a long lie in yesterday (especially with the clocks going back) but instead I woke up early to go to two car boot sales. I bought a useless 50p unicorn ornament so maybe that justifies it. Afterwards, my friend and I went shopping in the city centre. How many faux fur coats is too much? I'm lusting after an £80 one but my Zara Kids one was only £35.

Yesterday's outfit was intended to keep me warm during the car boot. Sadly, I forgot to prepare for rain but I just used my scarf as a shawl. The shorts I wore used to be full length jeans but I went scissor happy again.

Can you tell I love my sequin beret? I wish I had bought the heart tights from Miss Selfridge instead of Topshop. They are cuter AND cheaper DD:

Had a lot of birthdays this week. Four, to be exact. On Tuesday night I went to play bingo to celebrate one of them. It was surprisingly fun but you have to really concentrate! In other news, I'm becoming rather exhausted. I really want a week off to do nothing but sadly that's not possible.

I've also been ill for over a week. Feeling better now, my sore throat is gone so I just have to contend with a blocked/stuffy nose. The above outfit is what I wore for a quick trip to the supermarket on Saturday with my mum. I know, I'm so cool!

A big thank you to my new followers ♥♥

This charming man.

Accessorize's current jewellery collection is as stunning as ever. I don't really wear jewellery (too lazy) but I still enjoy looking at it. There are lots of necklaces and rings which I have fallen in love with. In particular, though, their brooches this season are super fabulous. Check them out!

I left my heart in Tokyo.

Recently I have discovered dropsnap.jp, which is basically a street style blog on the streets of Japan. I think you could wear anything over there and noone would think anything of it. Here are some of my favourite snaps.

High street lust #20.

Well, All Saints isn't particularly budget friendly but they do produce some amazing pieces using great quality fabrics. At the moment I really like the nadette gilet (£60) which, despite its name, is more of a shirt dress.

To create their signature rock/urban look, I'd wear it with a montana amiriki skirt (£75) and a plush amos leather jacket (£375). Accessorise with a truxidor oval belt (£65), chanetti ring (£25) and jona maxi bag (£195). I also adore the canvas slip boots (£155), don't they scream laidback chic? And possibly the best earrings in the world; koko earrings (£20).

Yesterday I went to watch The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Heath Ledger's unfinished movie. He was actually an *amazing* actor. I liked how Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell donated their wages to his daughter as she was left out of his old will.

The photos for this outfit aren't great as my brother refused to take too many. I normally only sleep in this Disney T-shirt (Donald looks SO cute on it) but I wore it out today since I was planning to wash it anyway. It's a comfortable outfit. Oh, before I went to the cinema, I stopped by Kurt Geiger and drooled over their new collection. I want!

I nearly fell down the stairs leaving the cinema. It was so embarrassing! Managed to catch myself though.

This week has been a bit slow, but there have been a lot of eating treats too. One of my friend's birthday is today and another one's on Tuesday and they both wanted to do something on Saturday.

The pictured outfit is what I wore for the first birthday gathering. We had lunch at hers and then went to watch Disney Pixar's Up (I enjoyed it a lot!). After that I raced home and got ready for my other friend's birthday outing. Anyway, I loooove my houndstooth cardigan! This week I made a Topshop.com order but didn't suit anything I received so I went to return it all and found this beauty. I couldn't resist. It's navy, btw.

The dancing in Cheryl Cole's 'Fight For This Love' single looks so much better when they are all dressed as soldiers.

Teenage dreams in a teenage circus.

There aren't too many stars out there that I like but I totally love Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen! There's something about them that I love. It's not just their eccentric fashion sense, but also their dedication to their work. Anyway, here are some scans from Olsenlove when Ashley was interviwed by Marie Claire 2007.

As we walk in fields of gold.

Are you planning a tea party soon? A wedding? Or just want to decorate your room? Why don't you get some vintage wallpaper like Project Wedding and make some totally cute envelopes, stamps, flowers, menu cards and notecards? Simple but super sweet!

High street lust #19.

Last week Dorothy Perkins had a 20% off sale. I didn't buy anything, but I wish I had! Especially this navy embroidered dress (£45) because a] it's navy, b] the cut is superbly flattering and c] the embroidery is sooo pretty!

I also wish I had gotten the gold studded platforms (£40) and black flower headband (£12). To smarten up the dress, I'd wear a black ponte boyfriend jacket (£45) along with subtle gold flower studded earrings (£10) and gold studded bangle set (£15). Finish off with a gold barrel lock clutch (£15) and I'd be set for a night on the tiles.

This week has been a slow one, but I'm not complaining! I've eaten much more fruit this week but I feel very bloated. I should start exercising more. On Friday I hung out with my friend and we had Malaysian take out whilst watching Hors de Prix and Infernal Affairs. Yesterday I went shopping but didn't buy anything on my list apart from a LV gift voucher for my friend.

The 'shorts' I wore yesterday were originally trousers, but they were a poor fit so I discarded them during my recent wardrobe clearout. Then I decided to cut them into shorts and now I love them!

Above you see me modelling my new purchases from Primark; a sequin beanie and a three strand pearl necklace.

Edit: Just heard about Stephen Gately. RIP.

Kawaii ne?

Lolita is a style which you may see when you're in Japan (or even in your own country now!). There are different types; sweet, classic, gore and gothic to name a few. Lolita is not something I could personally wear, but I truly appreciate the work that goes into the corsets, dresses and petticoats. My favourite brand for sure is Mary Magdalene. Don't you think their designs are astounding? The fabric they use is also devastatingly gorgeous!

Soundtrack of your life.

Recently I spent a whole weekend pulling out favourite songs from my iTunes and collating them onto five CDs for my car. Isn't it funny how hearing one song reminds you of a particular time or event in your life? The following list would probably be the soundtrack to the movie of my life so far (if there ever was one).

  1. Jimmy Eat World - The Middle
  2. Brand New - Okay I Believe You But My Tommy Gun Don't
  3. Savage Garden - Affirmation
  4. Death Cab For Cutie - I Will Follow You Into The Dark
  5. Foo Fighters - Everlong
  6. Green Day - Time Of Your Life
  7. The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby
  8. Interpol - C'mere
  9. James Morrison - You Give Me Something
  10. Lighthouse Family - Ocean Drive
  11. Kings of Leon - The Bucket
  12. Something Corporate - 21 & Invincible
  13. Michael Jackson - Beat It
  14. Moulin Rouge (Ewan McGregor) - Your Song
  15. Outkast - Hey Ya!
  16. The Ataris - In This Diary
  17. The Strokes - Reptilia
  18. The Calling - Wherever You Will Go
  19. Andy Williams - The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
  20. Third Eye Blind - Semi-Charmed Life
  21. The Kooks - She Moves In Her Own Way
What songs would you have on your soundtrack?

High street lust #18.

This week I am totally loving the sweet little charm necklaces and earrings from Miss Selfridge. In particular, I adore the bow pearl and stone stud pack of earrings (£8) and 3 row charm necklace (£8). They are simple but so sweet and girly.

I'd create a 'glam French' look by wearing them with the white stripe bandeau (£12) with a black three knot elastic belt (£15), a beige classic mac coat (£45, was £60) and a pair of black platform bow back boots (£50). Alternatively, I'd tuck the bandeau into a black sequin mini skirt (£35). Finish off with a black heart hard case bag (£18) and a silver sequin overlay beanie (£15) et voila!

All shall fade.

This week has been a subtly busy one. Picked up my brother's new old car on Monday. Got measured for my friend's bridemaids dresses on Wednesday. Had a clothes 'swap' on Thursday. The outfit above is what I wore when my friend and I went out on Friday night after work (pub, club, supermarket).

I've had this American Apparel dress for a while but haven't been brave enough to wear it since it is skin tight. I wore nipple covers but it wasn't enough so I still wore a (visible) bra and then I discovered I had a VPL so I pulled on a skirt as well. Need to remember not to wear flesh-coloured tights out AGAIN.

Can't believe it's already October. This year has flown by so quickly!

Magnifi-scents.

The campaign images for D&G's latest perfume have recently been released. They feature a lovely Scarlett Johannson on a peachy-pink bed. Needless to say, I am totally smitten! I also want to share a few of my other favourite perfume adverts. I suppose I am a sucker for romantic, girly images.

I hope 'Rose the One' smells of rose oil, rather than the flowers. I've been so brainwashed by these adverts, I can't wait to smell it!

Homemade recipes.

In these recent years, I have started to turn towards an organic skincare routine. There are products on the market which are organic (I like Love Lula the most), but I have also been trying a few homebrewed potions. They may not be for everyone, but here's a few things I use:

♥ Vitamin E oil - buy capsules from your local pharmacy or supermarket. Pop them and squeeze out the oil and apply to your face for 20 minutes (or overnight!). It's very sticky stuff but your skin will be grateful. Vitamin E is also rumoured to help heal scars.

♥ Extra virgin olive oil - who needs make up remover when you have this?! Just rub a teaspoonful into your hands and then massage gently on your face. It even takes off the most stubborn mascara and leaves your skin feeling soooo soft.

♥ Brown sugar - mix a little into a carrier oil (eg. coconut oil) and scrub your body down before you get into the shower. It makes a great exfoliator, just don't rub too hard or you might scratch your skin. Just rinse off in the shower.

♥ Rose water - it smells delicious and when used as a toner, gives you lovely and smooth skin. It's makes you feel very fresh. You can apply moisturiser once it has dried.

♥ Honey - can be used as a mask (mix in some oats for a nice little scrub) but is also great for silky smooth hair. Get a teaspoonful and warm it up with a little water. Massage into hair and leave for five minutes before rinsing out.

♥ Lemon juice - mix with water (you can add tea tree oil or witch hazel if you wish) to make a refreshing toner. It is good for oily skin, but use it every 2-3 days to prevent irritation. Keep it in the fridge and discard for two weeks.

♥ Teabags - can be herbal or regular. Use them as perky eye masks for tired eyes. The herbal teabgs can also be used in the bath in place of bath salts for an interesting smelling bathe.

♥ Aspirin mask - this last one is not for asthma sufferers or children, since you may be sensitive or allergic. Crush a low dose aspirin tablet and mix with a little water to form a thin paste. Apply to skin for no longer than ten minutes to get rid of annoying spots.

Not only are organic products better for you than those mixtures filled with chemicals, but they can sometimes be cheaper too!
